Update 3.0
This update brings 3 major new features:1) Event Templates
Everyone knows events that are so important they define the entire day — like day shift, night shift, or vacation. With this update, these get their own visual style: a triangular marker spanning the whole day.
Often, these are exactly the kind of events you don't want to type in laboriously, but would rather create from a template at the tap of a button. Both wishes have been fulfilled in this update through "Event Templates".
Templates and Rotations
Templates are created by the user with all the details that should be pre-filled when creating an event. Additionally, each template can have a colored triangle assigned. Rotations are designed for shift scheduling and represent a sequence of templates.
The fastest way: open the yearly view, select a template or rotation, and tap a day:

Here's how the new colored triangles look. The brand-new month widget shows them exclusively. Inside the app, the triangles are drawn semi-transparently in the background. That's why no more than 4 colors were possible — otherwise they couldn't be distinguished from one another.
One more thing: in this example, the early, late, and night shifts were all added to a "blue" calendar and still appear blue. The triangle colors are independent of this. This is by design — the calendar colors remain unchanged.
For each template with a configured color triangle, you can also specify multiple search terms for title and location to be matched in the calendar. This makes it relatively flexible to retroactively mark existing events with a triangle.
2) Voice Input
Simply hold your phone to your ear while the app is running — and dictate a new event or reminder. (Only works with local Apple Intelligence)
3) Birthday Widget
Want to always see who has an upcoming or current birthday? There's now a dedicated widget in 3 different sizes.
Did you know? Inside the app, a long press on a birthday even reveals the star sign.
